1.8 Pre-release 2 has been released!

The second pre-release version of Minecraft 1.8 has been released by Minecraft. This version fixes some of the bugs found in 1.8 Pre-release 1. Some of these features include:

• Increased stronghold count to 3 per map instead of one
• New blocks add to Creative Mode
• ‘F’ key now adjusts the fog levels.

Installation:

1. Close Minecraft.
2. Go to Minecraft.jar. You can find this in Windows at %appdata%/.minecraft/bin.
3. Copy your Minecraft.jar file and back it up somewhere else.
4. Move the newly downloaded 1.8 Minecraft.jar into the /.minecraft/bin folder.
5. Open up Minecraft and have fun!

1.8 is still ssp only, meaning you can only play offline.
